Team GodLike has announced the signing of BGMI pro Ashutosh “Punkk” Singh ahead of the BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season 3. The move comes right after the team's disappointing run in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024. With the conclusion of the tournament, many organizations are now making changes to their lineups.
Punkk played for Revenant Esports in the BGIS, but the team did not make it far. Nevertheless, he remains one of the top BGMI players and has played many prestigious tournaments in the past four years.
Punkk and his new team will now now focus on the upcoming Masters Series, which starts on July 19, 2024.
BGMI star Punkk's journey before joining Team GodLike
Punkk started his professional esports career as a PUBG Mobile player in 2020. However, he came into the prominence in 2021, when he was a part of Mayhem Esports.
Punkk later joined Team XO and played under the captaincy of Sensei. He won many BGMI events with the side. The team were victorious in the Skyesports Grand Slam and the Upthrust India Rising in 2022. It also finished third in the BGIS 2021.
After leaving led Team XO, Punkk played for Genesis Esports for only three months. He was then signed by Velocity Gaming as an IGL, and the team finished third in the BGMS Season 2. He left the organization in late 2023 and joined Reckoning Esports.
In March 2024, Punkk joined Revenant Esports and once again played under the leadership of Sensei. However, the team couldn’t perform as expected in the recently concluded BGIS and was eliminated from the tournament.
Team GodLike hopes to bounce back in BGMS Season 3
Team GodLike had a tough run over the last two years and could not live up to fans' expectations as it suffered setbacks in many major tournaments. The organization made several changes to its roster but didn't achieve any notable results.
Simp, one of Team GodLike's newest additions, recently said he would be a part of the playing four in the upcoming BGMS Season 3. With the inclusion of Punkk, the team will aim to get back on the track and claim the title.
