Mr. Olympia is the most prestigious title in the world of bodybuilding. The pursuit of getting the title is such that athletes have even come out of retirement to try their luck one more time at lifting the Sandow trophy. While there is no arguing that athletes' physiques tend to decline as they age, many bodybuilders, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, have made a comeback in competitive bodybuilding.

First on the list is none other than Schwarzenegger. Making a comeback at the Mr. Olympia in 1980, Schwarzenegger's entry on the stage shocked the entire bodybuilding and fitness world.

Arnold Schwarzenegger - 1980 Mr. Olympia

After creating a legacy in the realm of bodybuilding and winning six Mr. Olympia titles, Schwarzenegger decided to move on to other things in life. Having played multiple roles in Hollywood movies by then, Arnold Schwarzenegger had decided to make acting his full-time job. However, he decided to compete at the 1980 Mr. Olympia at the last moment.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was also the promoter of the show, won the prestigious title for the seventh time in 1980 at the age of 33. Many athletes as well as fans continue to believe that Schwarzenegger was out of shape during that contest and won only because he was the promoter of the show. Mr. Olympia 1980 is considered the most controversial edition of all time because of this.

Kevin Levrone - Mr. Olympia 2016

Often considered the 'Uncrowned King,' Levrone finished second at the Mr. Olympia four times during his long career. After creating a record for finishing second in the contest, Kevin Levrone decided to make a comeback at 2016's Mr. Olympia. The decision was made after IFBB president Jim Manion's special invitation to him.

Making a comeback at the staggering age of 51, Levrone finished 17th at the show. Regardless of his standing, preparing for the show for five months, that too during his 50s, was a huge feat.

Flex Wheeler - Mr. Olympia 2017

Bodybuilding icon Flex Wheeler is often considered one of the best bodybuilders of all time. The 'Sultan of Symmetry' won the Arnold Classic four times, which was a record at one point. Unfortunately, Wheeler was never able to secure a victory at the Mr. Olympia.

Despite retiring from the sport in 2000 due to prevailing kidney problems and other health issues, Wheeler decided to make a comeback in the classic physique division at the 2017 Mr. Olympia. Making a comeback at the age of 52, Wheeler finished 15th in the contest.
