Jay Cutler, the four-time Mr. Olympia known for his behemoth size and weighing around 300 pounds, was an absolute beast back in his prime. But to manage his colossal size, Culter had to eat 6,000–7,000 calories each day to stay that big. But this is just the tip of the iceberg, and let's find out how many eggs the bodybuilder ate in a single day.
In a podcast with Mike Sartian, the behemoth bodybuilder made a shocking revelation about his egg consumption. He said:
"I’m not going to lie; there was a lot of diets I ate 140 egg whites a day. So I was cracking eggs non-stop.I was eating thirty egg whites a meal then." [01:03:04]
In an Instagram reel shared by Mark Bell, Cutler shared that he gulped two cups of egg whites with his amino acids to fulfill his protein requirements for his massive physique. The behemoth needed approximately 500 grams of protein each day, and this was not enough to keep him going. He also ate two eggs with two slices of Ezekiel bread, along with a cup of cottage cheese, as part of his breakfast.
Jay Cutler further shed light on the fact that he didn't eat egg yolks that much because yolks have a lot of cholesterol. He used to eat 30 eggs with each meal. Yet the bodybuilder couldn't fulfill his protein requirements with just eggs and also ate a whole lot of meat.
Jay Cutler used to buy a whole cow in his prime
In the same reel, the four-time Mr. Olympia made another startling revelation and said:
"I would buy a whole cow, and then I’d buy 140 pounds of chicken at a time. So I had two freezers in my garage, and I would eat five pounds of meat a day plus the eggs."
In another podcast on The Iced Coffee's YouTube channel, Jay Cutler shared that, "I’d buy 150 pounds of chicken at a time.” The dieting part of his bodybuilding journey was not an easy task for him. He used to eat for two straight hours to complete his goals.
The four-time Mr. Olympia used to prepare his meals on his own on his barbecue grill. He also had an immense love for pizza and often ate pizza on his cheat days.
Jay Cutler also highlighted that he was spending around $50,000 each year on his dietary supplements.
