The Four time super middleweight champion, Carl Froch has hanged up his gloves, as he announced his retirement from professional boxing today morning. “The Cobra” (33-2-0-KO 24) has won the WBC title, as well as the WBA and IBF belts. His last fight was in May 2014 against his arch rival George Groves, whom he knocked out to retain his titles.
The 38-year-old boxer will now join Sky Sports as a pundit alongside Adam Smith, Johnny Nelson and others. Sky Sports released a video of his retirement, where Froch said: “I’m incredibly proud of what I have achieved in boxing but now is the right moment to hang up my gloves. I have nothing left to prove and my legacy speaks for itself.”
He thanked his fans for their support, as he tweeted:
