Conor McGregor might have a new challenger to worry about

Conor 'The Notorious' McGregor
I don’t think so

Amir Khan is exploring his dimensions as he aims at being the biggest not only in boxing, but also MMA. Who’s the reigning King to defeat? Conor McGregor, of course!

The former unified lightweight champion fancies his own chances against UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor. While McGregor was pulled off of his match at UFC 200, Khan is up for his against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, for gaining the WBC middleweight title.

In the midst of becoming one of boxing greats, Amir Khan has also being eyeing MMA. Not only eyeing, but also practicing MMA as he mentions, “I’ve already done MMA training. It's good for preparing to fight a guy like Canelo who likes to put the pressure on.”

About him being an MMA fighter? Khan said, “I’d never say no to getting into MMA.” Khan states that he’s had training and is fit to fight an MMA bout as he informed, “My speed would be perfect, it’s hit and move. And I can kick hard.”

When asked about his MMA aims, the Olympic silver medalist added, “I’ve always been a UFC fan and I like McGregor.”

McGregor vs Khan
I see

Furthermore, when he was questioned about fighting against ‘The Notorious One’ , his rather interesting reply was, “If I was to fight the champion around 147 lbs, I would fancy my chances. McGregor or whoever.”

He elaborated by saying, “I was at the last SFL show in Dubai, watching the guys in my weight closely. Even though I have no experience of MMA, I could have stepped in and done the business.”

Other than having a fighting chance in MMA, Khan has also invested in an Indian-based MMA promotion which is probably the third largest in the land of UFC and Bellator.

“I already have a stake in a company called Super Fight League (SFL), which is an MMA company in India and we have a lot of shows in Dubai too. We're now moving over into America and putting on shows there. Bellator and UFC are two main MMA companies, we're probably third after those,” he said.

At one instance Khan feels he can take on the fighters in his weight class and on the other, he agrees he lacks experience in MMA. Will the ‘hit and move’ tactic combined with speed be enough for Khan vs McGregor? Let’s give it a couple of years of training.
