An absolute thriller of a day comes to an end at the IBC World Boxing Championship for India. Deepak Bohria, Mohammed Hussamuddin, Sumit Sangwan, and Narendra Berwal competed on Day 7 of the IBC World Boxing Championship.

On the other hand, Sumit Sangwan and Narendar Berwal squared off against Pavel Sosulin of Russia and Arzola Lopez of Cuba respectively.
The biggest highlight of the day was Deepak Bohria’s stunning victory against the Tokyo Olympics Champion Saken Bibossinov of Kazakhstan. In the Round of 32 bouts, Deepak was against one of the best in the business. A day to be remembered for Indian fans as Deepak neutralized Saken and converted a potential defeat into a victory. He won the match by a unanimous decision of 5-2.
Saken used this to his advantage and made offense early. Although, the Indian boxer threw a flurry of punches at Saken towards the end of Round 1 still it wasn’t enough to win. Bohria lost the first round by 2-3.
After lurking behind in the second round too, Deepak made a great comeback. He moved around swiftly in the ring and eventually defeated the former champion. Deepak will face Zhang Jiamao of China in the quarter-finals.
In another match, Mohammed Hussamuddin was up against Eduard Savvin. Hussamuddin as always was prolific in his bout. He dominated the match from the start and never gave him a chance for a comeback. He was quicker than his counterpart and registered a dominating win by a unanimous decision of 5-0. He will be facing Bulgaria’s Javier Diaz in the quarter-finals of the championship.
Sumit Sangwan played his debut match in the Round of 32 and was knocked out by Russian Pavel Sosulin. Sumit won the first round due to his powerful and quick punching, by a score of 3-2. He won the second round by the same score, but couldn’t carry on with his performance in the third and eventually lost to Pavel by a split decision of 1-3.
The last match saw Narendar Berwal squaring off against Fernando Arzola of Cuba. He was struggling to find his balance against the Cuban. Arzola proved to be too quick for Berwal as the latter tried to land some punches. The Indian pugilist lost by a unanimous decision of 5-0.
