Boxer Akhil Kumar and Jitender Kumar met the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, today at the Haryana Bhawan, in New Delhi.
Both the boxers met with the CM to seek permission, to return to the boxing ring and begin their professional boxing career. Akhil Kumar and Jitender Kumar are following the lines of Vijender Singh, who turned professional last year in October. The boxers have already applied for the permission with their department Haryana Police. Both had met the Director General Police, Haryana Police, Shri. K.P. Singh, IPS on 7th of November to request him to grant them permission to join professional boxing.
The Beijing Olympic quarterfinalists are now serving as DSP with Haryana Police, and wish to return to the ring, through professional boxing. Vijender Singh who was also serving with the Haryana Police, followed the same route for permissions to enter the professional boxing.

Akhil Kumar said, “It was a pleasure meeting the Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar today. We have submitted a request to grant permission for us to turn towards professional boxing. We are hopeful that our permission will be granted soon, and we will be able to start our pro boxing training. While in the meeting we also discussed about the future of professional boxing.”
