Vikas Krishan becomes the 3rd Indian to book a Rio ticket

India’s Vikas Krishan progressed through to the semifinals of the last Olympics qualifier in the 75kg category but more importantly, also booked his seat into Rio 2016 after beating Dongyun Lee of South Korea 3-0 in his quarterfinal in Baku on Thursday.
The boxer now joins Manoj Kumar, who also qualified for the Summer Games in this event in the 64 kg category, as the third of the Indians to progress through and will join Shiva Thapa, who had progressed in an earlier qualifying event.

This news certainly comes a big boost for India ahead fo Rio 2016, especially after MC Mary Kom was denied the Olympic wildcard by the International Olympic Committee(IOC).
Vikas had earlier defeated Kvachatadze Zaal in the previous round. Sumit Sangwan and Devendro Singh are the remaining boxers who can still make the cut.
