The issue regarding poor matchmaking is something Modern Warfare 3 has faced for a long time. However, the problem seems to have exacerbated, with players getting suspicious of the algorithm used by the publisher through connection and time for matchmaking. Some players, as highlighted below, claim Activision is trying to prevent them from winning successive games.

On Reddit, u/iConfuez shared a post in which they claimed Activision was trying to alter the outcome of matches if someone performed well for an extended period:

"Won 3 games a row? Activision will rig your next 3 games"

Redditor u/Afraid-Date9958 seemed to agree with the opinion and wrote that they tend to quit 'bad matches' to prevent the current matchmaking algorithm in Modern Warfare 3 from affecting their gameplay.

u/MSES-JichaelMackson alleged that Activision often forces players to lose when they keep winning back-to-back games.

Another Redditor also recalled an instance of poor matchmaking that affected the outcome of their match.

u/Kfinch92 mentioned that their team loses games following a decent run of wins, as they end up in a match against professional CDL players.

Such concerns may prompt Activision to intervene and prevent players from getting annoyed by their Modern Warfare 3's Multiplayer experience.

Modern Warfare 3 needs a balanced matchmaking algorithm for public matches

Following its launch last year, MW3 developers at Sledgehammer Games have tried to provide transparency regarding matchmaking. However, despite the efforts to explain the system, they haven't been able to make the Multiplayer experience flawless.

Many players seem to be facing instances of unexpected encounters, against those of higher skill levels while playing constantly unless they quit and start a new match.

It remains unclear if there will be an update on MW3's matchmaking algorithm from Activision or Sledgehammer Games going forward.
