Call of Duty is bringing five new maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5. Two of them are brand new and the other three are cel-shaded versions of ones already in the game. Four of these maps will be available in the game right out of the bat with the Season 5 release, while the remaining one will be introduced with the Season 5 Reloaded (mid-season) update.

This article will offer a closer look at all the new maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5.

What are all the new maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5?

The five new maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 are Bait, Yard, Celship, Toonoxide, and Ink House. Here's everything you should know about them.

Bait (Launch)

Bait will be available in Modern Warfare 3 at the Season 5 launch. It will be a core 6v6 map. Going by the schematics, it appears to be a typical three-lane arena with open areas on the side and a clustered middle lane. Bait is a mid-size map and will facilitate aquatic combat as well.

Some POIs on the map include Bait Shop, Restaurant, Boat House, and Loading Docks. Simply put, Bait is based on a boat house and is the first among the new maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5.

Yard (Launch)

Yard is also a core 6v6 map in MW3. It is based on a junkyard in the desert and doesn't feature the typical three-lane design. One of the main highlights of the map is that it will be cel-shaded, giving the map a comic-like appearance. As for the size, it'll be a small map and will be available via the Small Maps Mosh Pit playlist as well.

Some of the POIs on the map include Crane and Garage. Given its size, Yard focuses on close-quarter engagements, and players will be able to take advantage of this using Shotguns and SMGs in the dead center of the map, which is a closed area, unlike other maps in the game that remain open.

Celship (Launch)

Celship, although is a new map in MW3 Season 5, is actually a cel-shaded variant of the popular map Shipment. It gives the map a unique makeover with cel shades and bright colors. It also changes the time of the day from night to noon, breathing new life into the map.

Celship will follow the same layout as Shipment and will be a small 6v6 core map. Although Call of Duty has it coupled under new maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5, it is only a variant of an already existing map.

Toonoxide (Launch)

Toonoxide in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 is a variant of Rust. It receives a similar treatment to Celship, where the Rust map is provided a cel-shaded makeover. Unlike Celship, where the time of the day changes from night to day, Toonoxide sees a change from noon to night.

Apart from the visual changes, Toonoxide doesn't depart much from Rust's design. It retains the core 6v6 small map in the game it is popularly known for.

Ink House (Mid-Season)

Finally, among the new maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 is Ink House. It is a cel-shaded variant of the Stash House. Unlike other maps in Season 5, Ink House won't be available at launch and will be arriving in Season 5 Reloaded.

Ink House has received changes only in terms of aesthetics with bold black outlines and vibrant colors. The layout, objects, and other details in the map remain the same as Stash House.

The MW3 and Warzone Season 5 will go live on July 24, 2024, at 9 am PT and will bring with it a host of new content, including five new maps, game modes, six new Aftermarket Parts, four new weapons, a plethora of Operators, store bundles, and a lot more.
