Over the last few weeks, Several Warzone 2025 maps have been leaked online. Although Activision is yet to announce the next major map for Warzone, it seems that the upcoming year will feature more than one Warzone map. Unlike this year, during which no new battle royale map for the title is expected to be revealed, 2025 seems to be the one fans should keep an eye on.
This article will mention key details on all the leaked Warzone 2025 maps so far for players who enjoy the battle royale experience under the Call of Duty franchise.
Note: Players are advised to take early leaks and rumors with a grain of salt unless there is an official confirmation from developers.
Details leaked so far on all Warzone 2025 maps
In his report published on Insider Gaming last year, credible insider Tom Henderson claimed that the original Warzone map Verdansk will return to the battle royale game after a long time. This year, the insider reiterated the claim but mentioned that the Verdansk map will reportedly return to Warzone in early 2025 instead of coming back in late 2024.
Verdansk needs no introduction, being one of the most iconic battle royale locations in the game. Initially revealed in 2020 with the launch of Warzone in the Call of Duty franchise, many players still miss diving into this huge area. Now it's rumored to make a grand return among many other Warzone 2025 maps, including Avalon.
According to the report by Insider Gaming, Avalon is the newest Warzone 2025 map leaked from gameplay footage several days ago. Per the report, the clip showed a player flying above a huge area, supposedly codenamed 'Avalon', which looked similar to Caldera - a Warzone map from the past.
Going by the leaked intel, the Avalon map may have satellite stations, military installations, and residential districts. The leaked gameplay footage featured bodies of water and a lot of open space as well.
Among other Warzone 2025 maps, there's one more leaked map based on Sierra Leone in Africa. Per the early speculation, it could be a remake of Verdansk, although this theory is yet to be confirmed. It might be a separate, brand-new Warzone map altogether.
For those unaware, there was a map of Sierra which was a POI (place of interest) in 2011's original Modern Warfare 3. Inspired by the real-world location of Sierra Leone, the place was featured during the hunt for the main antagonist Vladimir Makarov in MW3. For now, it is not known whether the same location will return to the Call of Duty series with Warzone in 2025 or be a newly designed map.
Meanwhile, fans may also see another map making it to the list of Warzone 2025 maps, based on recent rumors. This new Warzone map might be called Area 99. The map of Area 99 is supposed to be the highlight of Warzone's Resurgence mode. This means that it will be a small place to enable fast-paced combat similar to existing maps like Rebirth Island or Fortune's Keep.
Interestingly, the Area 99 map is rumored to be developed by Treyarch, the studio behind this year's upcoming Call of Duty premium title Black Ops 6.
