Offering exclusive challenges and rewards, the Altered Strain event is the latest addition to the Season 4 Reloaded update in MW3 and Warzone. Its release coincides with the launch of the Mutation mode, which introduces game-changing abilities. Altered Strain involves DNA collection, a theme very similar to a previous event in the game, Critical Countdown.

All rewards and challenges for Altered Strain event in MW3 and Warzone

The Altered Strain event went live, along with the Season 4 Reloaded update on June 26, 2024, and will stick around until the end of this Season on July 26, 2024. Your goal in this content is to collect DNA strands dropped by enemy players, zombies, and Warzone caches.

There are numerous types of DNA strands, each identified by a different color; some will be released gradually over the event's duration. By collecting DNA samples and obtaining augmentations, you can improve your performance in the Mutation mode while earning valuable in-game items offered by the Altered Strain event.

The two DNA samples that are available right now are the Ade-OGT (blue DNA) and Cyto-RCG (orange DNA). There are a total of 19 rewards that you can earn in the Altered Strain event in MW3 and Warzone. Here are the bonuses related to the two DNA strands:

Ade-DGT (Blue DNA):

390 Ade-DGT: Double XP token
780 Ade-DGT: Double weapon XP token
1,560 Ade-DGT: Double battle pass XP token
3,125 Ade-DGT: Double weapon XP token
6,250 Ade-DGT: Double weapon XP token
12,500 Ade-DGT: Double battle pass XP token

Cyto-RCG (Orange DNA):

780 Cyto-RCG: “First Strike” Mutation effect
1,560 Cyto-RCG: “Pet Strain” charm
3,125 Cyto-RCG: “Class Pet” emblem
6,250 Cyto-RCG: “Flop Shot” Mutation effect

You can also unlock a unique weapon blueprint for the SOA Subverter (Strands and Slaughter Weapon blueprint) during this event by completing all the mastery challenges with the following attachments:

Barrel: Dozer-90 Long Barrel
Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support Grip
Magazine: 50 Round Drum

The Altered Strain event also offers various augmentations you can use Mutation matches that provide significant perks and advantages. Here is a list of all the augmentations that are available and their uses:

Galvanized: Temporary damage reduction from explosives.
Repocket: Kills scored with abilities may replenish tactical ability.
Attuned: Reduced cost to earn Mutant Juggernaut.
Flop Shot: Diving from surfaces creates a small explosion.
First Strike: Faster cooldown of the first ability used after respawning.
