Black Ops 6 players question the authenticity of Double XP weekend again

The Double XP weekend in Black Ops 6 is when players can get twice the XP for completing challenges and tasks. It's a rather common and popular event that graces the game now and then. It is supposed to be a great opportunity for players to unlock items by gaining double the XP. However, several players feel skeptical about the event.

The Redditor noted that they were getting about half their regular XP during the Double XP weekend. In response to the OP, u/Yo-JobuNeedsARefill recounted a similar experience:

"I agree. 40+ kill games while playing objective and it’s saying I’m only getting 8k total which would be 4k with no 2xp Feels like they halved it again"

In a different comment, u/RaetheScot expressed their frustration by revisiting the time when their XP came back less than expected:

"100% lowered the XP. I just got 32 to kills and 25 confirms. 4000xp. F**king joke"

It seemed as if multiple Black Ops 6 players felt that the developers had deducted their gain rate meaning they wouldn't win enough XP for finishing challenges. u/mrallday710 speculated the reasons for the phenomenon.

The most recent Double XP weekend in Black Ops 6 started with a new patch on November 27, 2024. Initially, players welcomed the grand opportunity with open arms. However, as per comments in the aforementioned thread, it would appear players are not happy that the weekend has passed.

However, there has not been any real announcement from Treyarch or Activision regarding a nerf on the Double XP weekend event. On paper, the event still works but player testimonies tell a different story.
