It is well known at this point that Black Ops 6 on PS4 and Xbox One won't deliver the best possible experience. Players who participated in the Beta witnessed how the developers had to tone down the visuals quite a bit to get it running on last-gen systems. Even then, the framerate was all over the place, and the overall experience was sub-optimal.

However, it isn't just the visuals and framerates that will be taking a hit on last-gen systems. Call of Duty is removing two major features from Black Ops 6 on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Read on to know more about the two significant compromises that Treyarch had to make with Black Ops 6 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Two major features will be missing from Black Ops 6 on PS4 and Xbox One

The two major features that won't be available in Black Ops 6 on PS4 and Xbox One are Split-Screen gameplay and Theater Mode. Irrespective of the last-gen console you own, including the mid-gen refresh PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, you won't have access to these primary features. However, they will obviously be available on PC and current-gen systems, namely the PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Call of Duty has explicitly stated they won't be adding the Split-Screen on last-gen systems to "ensure performance integrity". This was to be expected as the device has to render two perspectives at once in his mode. Since the Xbox One and PS4 already struggle to render one POV with stable framerates, it doesn't come as a surprise that Call of Duty is making compromises in this regard.

The same goes for Theater Mode. Although Activision has yet to mention the exact reason for the feature not making it into last-gen systems, it can speculated that they simply don't pack the resources to make it happen. The Theater Mode keeps track of your gameplay, allowing you to watch it later. Users can view their matches from different angles and camera perspectives, record clips, and a lot more.

Since this puts an additional load on the system, last-gen consoles will suffer further if the game is constantly recording everything that is going on in the match.

With so many compromises to visuals, framerates, and now the removal of two major features from Black Ops 6 on PS4 and Xbox One, buying the shooter for last-gen consoles now appears even less appealing.
