"The Cradle" is the fifth mission in the Black Ops 6 Campaign. It follows up directly on the events of the previous mission where Case, Marshall, Adler, and Park successfully cleared the SAM sites for the SAS soldiers on Iraqi soil. After completing it, Case and the team return to the base camp to speak with their Captain and receive instructions for the next mission.
In The Cradle, Case and the team are tasked with infiltrating Saddam Hussein's secret palace to secure a powerful weapon, code-named, as you guessed it, "The Cradle." While the mission appears straightforward, sticking solely to the main path might cause you to miss a few key items.
Additionally, this mission can be challenging, especially on higher difficulty levels as you have to deal with a ton of soldiers, helicopters, trucks, and more. On top of that, Snipers and RPG-wielding soldiers are present on different parts of the mission's map, making it way more difficult to complete than some others.

Black Ops 6 Campaign mission "The Cradle" objectives
The mission objectives for "The Cradle" in Black Ops 6 are clearly defined and they focus on infiltrating Saddam's palace and retrieving the secret weapon. The mission broadly takes place in four phases:
- Infiltrate Saddam Hussein's palace.
- Get access to the bunker.
- Retrieve "The Cradle."
- Exfiltrate and blow up the palace.

Infiltrate Saddam's palace
The mission starts with an action-packed vehicle sequence as the squad blasts through the gates of Saddam's palace and is immediately met with resistance, a ton of resistance. Take out all the enemies in the front yard. Go through the main entrance and make sure to stick to the left flank.
You will find an entrance with stairs leading up to a floor. Proceed through this way. Here, you'll find a radio along with a locker containing cash. Use the radio to crack the code for the safe for a large cash reward.
Fight your way through the palace until you reach the backyard. If possible, always stick to the left flank as it will provide ample cover and you will have to face fewer enemies. Proceed till you reach the end of the compound. You'll face a lot of resistance, even spawning a Juggernaut.
Make sure to call in the Chopper Gunner to take them out easily. This will make this fight a lot easier, especially if you're playing the mission on the Hardened or Veteran Difficulty. Once the enemies are down, you'll notice a room with red walls. This will get you access to the Bunker.
Retrieving the Cradle
Upon making your way to the Bunker door, you'll be immediately attacked by a group of soldiers with gas. Make sure to create distance and take them down. They will try to close the gap and hit you down with a Melee Weapon, which results in instant death. Hence, make sure to keep your distance and immediately shoot at targets who try to get close.
Now, get inside the Bunker with Marshall and Adler. Take out the few guards on the lower floors. Follow Marshall and Adler through the Bunker until you reach the final room.
Right in front of you, there will be an orange box on the table. Interact with it. You'll find a bioweapon sample inside. Collect it and you'll be immediately called for backup topside. There will be an Ammo Refill box and Equipment Refill available in the Bunker. Make sure to stack up all the essentials as you will be needing them for the fight topside.
Getting out of the palace
You will have to fight your way through multiple Iraqi soldiers as well as the Pantheons on your way out. Proceed to take them down and move forward. Locate the rope and get to the terrace. There will be a couple of soldiers on the rooftop who you need to take down as well. Now, a large force of enemies will be making their way to your location. You must stay on the roof and defend yourselves.
A couple of enemy choppers will spawn. Find the HE-1 Launcher next to the boxes on the Terrace and use it to take down the helicopters. Eliminate all the enemies on the ground. The next wave will spawn directly in front of you. Take cover as they will be shooting you with RPGs as well as Sniper Rifles.
Unlike the soldiers on the ground, the new wave of enemies will have the upper hand this time, forcing you to fight while taking cover.
Eliminate them all, and pick up the DM-10 available on the roof if needed. You'll also find an LMG here, which will make survival a little easier. But make no mistake, this fight is not going to be simple. Another chopper will spawn, which you must destroy with the HE-1 Launcher as well.
Once the final chopper is down, an SAS (friendly) Helicopter will make its way to the terrace. Board it to complete the mission.
Rewards for completing the mission The Cradle in Black Ops 6
For completing the mission "The Cradle" in the Black Ops 6 Campaign, you'll earn the “Onyx Echo” Weapon Blueprint for LR 7.62 Sniper Rifle. The difficulty in which you attempt the mission does not matter. As long as you complete it, you'll earn this unique Blueprint for use in Multiplayer.
