A Call of Duty fan may have just put the controllers vs mouse and keyboard debate in Warzone to rest. Reddit user u/Alfphie recently posted a video of themselves playing the game with a controller and covering up the center of their screen with tape. Demonstrating the power of Aim Assist, they were seen taking down enemies without even seeing them.

Read on to find out more about u/Alfphie's experiment with Aim Assist in Warzone.

Controller Aim Assist might be overpowered in Warzone

u/Alfphie posted a video on Reddit showcasing their gameplay in Warzone using Aim Assist on their controller. They conducted an elaborate experiment to demonstrate that users do not need to see their targets if they are using a controller. While the hypothesis may sound exaggerated, their experiment proved otherwise.

u/Alfphie decided to cover the center of their screen, eliminating their ability to see enemy targets when aiming down sights. Then, they entered a match of Plunder and were seen effortlessly taking down enemies with just Aim Assist.

They provided two perspectives: one showing the game's footage and the other their monitor. This gave the community all the evidence needed to confirm that they weren't fabricating their claims.

For those wondering if u/Alfphie is a seasoned veteran with extensive controller expertise, they claim that this was only their third match with a controller in the game. Their K/D ratio? 10 to 1, which is impressive even by professional standards.

Their experiment showed the community that Aim Assist in Call of Duty is so strong that players don't even need to see their enemies. Aim Assist just tracks the enemy for them. As long as players aim around their targets, Aim Assist will kick in, helping them take out their enemies.

Although u/Alfphie hasn't outright confirmed it, it seems they aimed to prove a point to players who were complaining about reduced visual recoil in a recent update. The update significantly reduced visual recoil, not the actual recoil, allowing players to see their targets more clearly.

However, controller players criticized the update, deeming it to reduce the skill gap as it removed the layer of challenge required to see enemies clearly and maintain aim.
