Call of Duty recently announced the release of Squid Game 2: The VIPs Tracer Pack, now available for purchase in the Black Ops 6 in-game store. However, the post on X was flagged with a community note, cautioning potential buyers that some items in the bundle might not function properly.
Community Notes is a feature on X that allows users to collaboratively add context to potentially misleading posts. This article will explore why the post about the new bundle in Black Ops 6 received a community note.
Players receive warnings as Call of Duty gets community noted for store bundles in Black Ops 6
Call of Duty's recent collaboration with Squid Game 2 introduced a variety of new content to the game, including three themed bundles inspired by the popular series. One of these bundles has already been released, and for the second, Squid Game 2: The VIPs Tracer Pack, Call of Duty made a dedicated post announcing its availability for purchase.
However, shortly after the post went live, it was flagged with a community note, which cautioned readers:
"Exercise caution when purchasing bundles from the Call of Duty store. There have been multiple reports indicating that one or more items within several bundles may not function as expected or may be changed to function differently after purchase."
This community note was prompted by recurring issues players have experienced with recent bundles. Since these bundles are often pricey, such problems can lead to dissatisfaction among buyers.
For instance, in the Brightmare Mastercraft bundle, priced at 2800 CP, one of its most appealing features was a finishing move where a unicorn appears and farts on the enemy to eliminate them. Unfortunately, the animation is currently bugged, and the operator simply throws the enemy instead. Despite developers acknowledging the issue, it remains unresolved as of January 9, 2025.
Similarly, the Tracer Pack: Steel Mountains Rider bundle, priced at 1500 CP, faced a significant issue where the main Operator skin, Joyride, was quickly disabled in Warzone. Players reported that equipping this skin caused operators to become fully or partially invisible to others in the lobby. Although developers have taken note of this problem, it has not been fixed yet.
These unresolved issues are the primary reasons the post was flagged with a community note. When players purchase premium bundles but encounter broken or disabled features, satisfaction diminishes significantly. Even if the issues are eventually addressed, the initial disappointment and delay tarnish the overall experience.
The developers' prolonged response times only add to the frustration, contributing to the backlash against such announcements.
