The Call of Duty MW3 Esports World Cup has been unveiled. It will see 16 world-renowned teams competing for a $1.8 million prize pool. The grand tournament is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from August 15, 2024. Several teams from Call of Duty's premier league, CDL, are invited to participate in the global event.

When does the Call of Duty MW3 Esports World Cup start and end?
The Modern Warfare 3 tournament for the Call of Duty segment in the Esports World Cup will start on August 15, 2024, and end on August 18, 2024.
This schedule is a month later than the first Call of Duty event in the Esports World Cup, the Warzone tournament, which will take place from July 3, 2024, to July 6, 2024.

As announced by the official Esports World Cup X account, the tournament will have a $1.8 million prize pool divided among the 16 participants:
- 1st place: $600,000
- 2nd place: $320,000
- 3rd-4th place: $160,000
- 5th-8th place: $80,000
- 9th-12th place: $40,000
- 13th-16th place: $20,000
Call of Duty MW3 Esports World Cup format
The MW3 tournament is divided into two stages: the Group Stage and the Playoffs.
In the Group stage, 16 teams will be divided into four groups. Each group will consist of four teams. These teams will play against each other in a best-of-five, double-elimination format. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs.
In the Playoffs stage, all eight teams will be placed in brackets and will play in best-of-five, single-elimination matches until the semi-finals. The top two teams will face each other in the final round and will play a best-of-seven series.
The winner of the final round will be crowned MW3 Esports World Cup champions.
Call of Duty MW3 Esports World Cup participating teams
At the time of writing, only four teams from the Call of Duty League have been revealed to participate in the MW3 Esports World Cup: Atlanta FaZe, Toronto Ultra, Minnesota ROKKR, and Los Angeles Thieves.
The other 12 teams have yet to be revealed by the organizers. This article will be updated once we have information on the participating teams.
The Esports World Cup will be held from July 3, 2024, to August 25, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The grand tournament will host plenty of competitive titles featuring world-class teams globally.
