Black Ops 6 is set to offer an action-packed online experience later this year with its Multiplayer and Zombies modes. Currently, many PlayStation users must be looking forward to the game's release to enjoy its online experience on their PS5 and PS4 consoles. However, one bad news may affect several players, especially those who are not active PS Plus subscribers.
As it turns out, one can experience Black Ops 6 online only with a paid subscription to PlayStation Plus.
You can't play Black Ops 6 online (Multiplayer and Zombies) without a PS Plus subscription
Activision has made it clear that Black Ops 6 online can only be played on a PS5 or PS4 while having an active subscription to Sony's PlayStation Plus.
Here's what the publisher has mentioned on the official support page for the game:
"If you’re on a console, Campaign can be played without a premium subscription service such as Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus."
While having a console allows players to enjoy BO6's story mode offline, they can't jump into its Multiplayer or Zombies without PS Plus. This means the game is designed to not allow the online experience without a subscription to PlayStation's game service.
Even BO6's PS store page has confirmed that online play is only possible with a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Yes, it's a weird requirement for accessing online play but there's no valid reason given to justify it - at least not now.
Hence, all PS5/PS4 users who don't necessarily keep a PS Plus subscription must join the service to access BO6's Multiplayer and Zombies content. Otherwise, they won't be able to enjoy the online public matches.
