In a recent turn of events, COD devs have acknowledged the latest wave of false permabans in Warzone and MW3. Handed out by Ricochet Anti-Cheat, these bans carried no credibility and affected innocent players due to an exploit that cheaters abused in the game. With numerous unwarranted bans reported, developers have finally revealed the next step they will take in response to the situation.

This article will explore the steps that COD devs have promised in response to the false permabans in Warzone and MW3.

How will COD devs mitigate false permabans in Warzone and MW3?

As per the latest report from COD's official news handle on X, developers have acknowledged the massive breach in security in their Ricochet Anti-Cheat (RAC). With a minor exploit wreaking havoc on many players' hard work and reputation, the community at large has been affected and the authenticity of RAC bans in the game is under severe scrutiny.

Developers have stated that all the accounts that were permanently banned due to this exploit have now been restored. Furthermore, Ricochet has been strictly examined, and moving forward, the developers will continue monitoring its functionality across different COD titles, including false permabans in Warzone and MW3 and other related issues.

Furthermore, the developers have promised to launch a 'Progress Report' blog from Team Ricochet to address the situation and provide players with detailed insight regarding the situation.

As per reports from @zebleerpro, hackers with access to a simple 'auto-hotkey' script were easily able to compromise the integrity of RAC. This raises a bigger question about the integrity of COD's in-house anti-cheat. The developers have not provided answers regarding how long this workaround has been in play, and how many innocent accounts have been falsely permabanned in both Warzone and MW3.

Players expect the COD devs to issue an official apology, and expect them to release a list of accounts affected by this exploit. This would allow players to clear their name, and help restore the blowback they faced when they were falsely banned in the game.
