It's been a week since we've seen numerous clips of hit registration issues in Warzone and Black Ops 6, and the situation has gotten much worse than before. While Call of Duty has acknowledged a problem, it didn't mention anything related to the hit registration and kept the problem as an issue with the visual blood effects. Consequently, the internet didn't take it lightly and reportedly accused Activision of gaslighting the community.
However, a COD player named @Freund_cod has tried to find out what's wrong with the current hit registration, and the results might shock you. Read on to learn more about how the situation of the current Call of Duty is and what the user has found out about the hit registration in Warzone and Black Ops 6.
Note: The entire test is done by the player, and the article is purely based on that. Neither Activision nor anyone from the official developers' side has confirmed these problems. Hence, take the information with a grain of salt.
CoD player possibly reveals the reason behind hit registration issues in Warzone and Black Ops 6
Numerous content creators have already shared their clips where the bullets are hitting the targets, there is a visual blood splatter, but still there is no damage in both Warzone and Black Ops 6. Some people have accused Activision of skill-based damage; while that still remains a mystery, the test by Freund has shown what might be wrong with the game.
The user has posted the video on their X page, and in the video, it can clearly be seen that during the test, the opponent gets barely a shred of damage despite all the bullets hitting in Warzone and Black Ops 6. During the test, the player intentionally made themself lag, which means they delayed their outgoing packets, and that possibly explains the problem the community has experienced. The user further states to make the matter simpler,
"In short, the blood effects are client sided, and the hit reg is bad – probably because of desync/bad servers."
So, there's definitely an issue with the visual blood effects, which Call of Duty acknowledged. However, there's also a massive issue with the hit registration due to some disconnect between the server and the client. The user further explained,
"Purely client sided blood effects, that often don't match actual server authorized hits. The effects of this are much worse and more noticeable when there's lag/desync. The client sided blood is maybe not intentional, as there appears to be a first blood effect when your client thinks a bullet hit, and then a second blood effect when you get the hitmarker."
The user also explains that sometimes players might miss the shots but they can still see the blood effects. The reason might be the blood effects not lining up with the original hitboxes, resulting players to see blood splatters.
However, it can't be confirmed that the issue is due to the aforementioned reasons. There can be other things broken in the game as well. Activision has already acknowledged the issue with the blood splatter, but the community believes the hit registrations are incorrect as well. Fans hope that Activision will soon look into the issues and fix the problems before it's too late.
