William "Case" Calderon is the main protagonist in the new Call of Duty Black Ops 6 title. More importantly, he is the star of the Campaign that has garnered much acclaim from fans around the world. However, the end of this title's story mode leaves us in the dark about Case's death. So, did he really die in Black Ops 6? The fact of the matter is that we don't really know for sure.

The Campaign's story gives us many twists and turns, showing us the truth behind Jane Harrow's actions while also diving into Case's past. Eventually, these characters have a fight, leading to what could be seen as Case's death, but it's never confirmed. This article will explain the mysterious circumstances in which the game ends.

The ending of the Black Ops 6 Campaign puts us in a strange position regarding the future of the protagonist, Case. For those who have finished the story mode, it's obvious that this character take a leap of faith, trying to catch and kill Harrow.

At the end of the Campaign, the latter tries to get away from your crew and return to safety in her rescue helicopter. However, protagonist William "Case" Calderon jumps and somehow makes his way into the airborne chopper.

A brawl breaks out between two while the latter is still holding her gun. During the exchange, Harrow ends up shooting the helicopter pilot by mistake. This seals the fate of the aircraft, which seemingly crashes into a body of water.

However, Case and Harrow are both still alive after the crash. Again, the two fight, and in the end, the protagonist starts to lose consciousness as he slowly chokes Harrow to her death.

Soon, the screen goes completely black. We hear Marshall calling Case up on the radio and telling him how Livingstone managed to evacuate the Capitol building and foil Harrow's plan for good.

So, does Case die in Black Ops 6? As mentioned before, it is possible that this was the game's way of telling us that Case is actually dead. In this case, it could be taken that he blacked out and died of either injuries from the crash or by drowning in the water.

The ending, however, could also mean that he can no longer see but is still alive. It seemed that he could still hear Marshall's voice over the comms. Furthermore, Marshall does not seem surprised or concerned about Case's life in any way.

This protagonist's death is never confirmed by any character or prompt in the game. Therefore, his status — even when the story mode has ended — is still shrouded in mystery.
