Changing your name in Warzone is a pretty straightforward process. Players typically rush the process of picking a username since they are more interested in playing the game. In fact, many new players often decide to give the game a shot with a random username but once they start playing it regularly, they want to change their in-game identity.

Fortunately, changing your name is quite an easy process, and as long as you abide by the Call of Duty Code of Conduct, you can pick any name in the game.

Check the section below for a simple guide on how to change your name in Warzone.

Step-by-step guide to changing your name in Warzone

To change your name in Warzone on all platforms, follow these steps:

  • Launch Call of Duty HQ.
  • From there, select Settings, which is represented by a cog wheel icon at the top right of the screen next to your Player Level.
  • Then, click on Account & Network from the list of available settings.
  • Next, select Activision Account under the Online section.
  • Click on Change Display Name and enter your new username. Please note that each change requires one Token.
  • Finally, select Confirm and Restart.

The game will now restart and your in-game name will be changed. It is worth noting here that each name change will consume one Token. By default, you will have two Tokens. Once you have changed your name, you will earn one rename Token every six months.

It is important to ensure that the name you choose does not violate Call of Duty's Code of Conduct. In most cases, you won't even be able to use IDs that don't comply with the Code of Conduct. However, if you bypass it and other players raise concerns about your ID, you might get punished by the Call of Duty community moderation team. Hence, please make sure you pick an appropriate name as you only get to change it once every six months.

That covers everything you need to know about changing your in-game name in Warzone. In-game names are quite personal and they are often the first point of identification online, be it for adding friends, reporting players, or contacting the Activision support team for assistance.
