Before starting, ensure you're equipped with a Level 3 Armor Vest, which costs 14,000 Essence. As you progress toward the boss fight, it's highly recommended to craft the new Beam Smasher Wonder Weapon and Pack-A-Punch your weapon to Level 3.

  • Pack-A-Punch costs:
  • Level 1: 5,000 Essence
  • Level 2: 15,000 Essence
  • Level 3: 30,000 Essence

For maximum effectiveness, upgrade your weapon to Epic or Legendary rarity at the Arsenal Machine using Salvage.

Selecting the right combination of GobbleGums is crucial. Prioritize Kill Joy and Idle Eye, while others like Stock Option, Free Fire, and Shield Ups can be chosen but you can interchange them based on personal preference. Also, purchase a self-revive kit.

With these preparations complete, let's dive into the boss’s attack patterns.

Types of Patient 13 attacks in Black Ops 6 Zombies

As mentioned earlier, the boss fight will be in three phases. In the first phase, the main attack of the boss will be of two types.

Phase 1 Attacks

  • Tentacle Slam: The creature slams both of its primary tentacles into the ground in the direction it is facing. This deadly attack can affect up to 80% of your health. To avoid it, move to a different direction from where it is aiming.
  • Tentacle Slide: After slamming its tentacles, it drags them along the ground, inflicting heavy damage and potentially depleting half of your health.
  • Projectile Tentacles: Additional tentacles will emerge from the water and shoot projectiles at you, though these deal only minor damage.

Phase 2 Attacks

  • The creature retains its Tentacle Slam and Tentacle Slide attacks from Phase 1.
  • Zombie Reinforcements: Zombies will now spawn in the area, making it more challenging to focus on the primary target.
  • Lava Stone Ability: Occasionally, the creature’s body will take on a lava-like form, becoming impervious to damage except in its mouth, the only vulnerable spot during this phase.

Phase 3 Attacks

  • All the attack patterns from the previous phases persist.
  • AOE Shockwave: The creature gains a powerful new area-of-effect attack, unleashing a shockwave that deals massive damage and can potentially eliminate you in one hit.
  • Block the arena into two parts

In phase one, the boss will have weak spots, such as Red Boils. Focus on shooting these areas to deal massive damage. Be cautious of its attacks, and avoid facing it directly to prevent getting caught in its slam attack.

As you deal damage, the boss will dive underwater. At this point, shift your priority to eliminating the tentacles floating in the water. Look for yellow glowing areas on the tentacles, shooting them will cause the tentacles to disappear.

When the boss re-emerges, phase two begins. The new weak spots will appear on two tentacles, marked by yellow glowing areas. Since the tentacles will keep moving, it may be tricky to hit these weak spots consistently. Focus your attacks on them as they offer the most effective way to deal heavy damage.

When the boss shifts into lava form, it will open its mouth - this becomes the only vulnerable point to target. Keep firing at the mouth while using cover and running around the arena to avoid incoming zombies and projectile attacks from the other tentacles.

Once the boss submerges again and re-emerges, phase three begins. Continue attacking as before, but now pay attention to when the boss starts glowing blue. this indicates that an AOE Shockwave attack is coming, so take cover behind the boxes or dive underwater.

Moreover, parts of the arena will be blocked by the boss, and the only way to access some areas will be by diving underwater. This can be risky since zombies will often crowd the ladder spots. The weak spot will now shift to its eyes, so make sure to aim for them.
