Black Ops 6 now has a new mode in Zombies called the Directed Mode. This mode helps you tackle Easter egg steps while adding a new mechanic that changes the way a round progresses. This new addition is the round cap system, which limits progression until you complete specific objectives. It also creates new opportunities for you to farm XP.

How to get XP in Black Ops 6 Zombies Directed Mode

Directed Mode is designed to streamline Zombies gameplay, ensuring you stay focused on Easter egg steps while progressing through the map. One of the standout features is the round cap system, which pauses progression at certain rounds until specific steps are completed.

On paper, this seems like it might hinder gameplay but is perfect if you just want to farm, since the game locks you into a repeatable round with consistent zombie spawn rates. This makes it easy to rack up kills, XP, and camo challenges without worrying about increasing difficulty.

Follow these steps in the Terminus map in the Zombies Directed Mode to get the most out of farming XP:

Load Terminus in Directed Mode and progress through the map until you turn on the power and unlock the Pack-a-Punch machine.
Purchase the Dead Wire Ammo Mod. This adds chain lightning effects to your shots, and is perfect for wiping out groups of zombies.
Activate the Inclined Lift near the Pack-a-Punch and ride it up. While you are on your way up, shoot the marked electrical boxes as instructed on-screen.
After completing the abovementioned steps, enter the Research Office and clear one round of zombies.
As soon as the next round starts (visible in the top-right corner), step outside the Research Office and save your game. Exit the game and reload your save.
Upon reloading, you’ll spawn near or inside the Research Office. If outside, quickly run back in. Now, zombies will spawn exclusively from two points within the Research Office, making them easy to control and eliminate.

Stand in a corner near the doorway of the Research Office. This positioning funnels zombies into straight lines, allowing you to chain kills quickly and safely. You can also stay at a Round cap indefinitely by avoiding further Easter egg progress. However, if you want to increase the Round cap, simply complete the next Main Quest step.
