How to increase your Torment level in Warzone easily

Increasing your Torment level in Warzone can be a chore. According to the Call of Duty blog, the only way to do so is by getting eliminations. So, if you go by the book, all you have to do is get kills on Purgatory Island. While this is a sure-shot way of leveling up your Torment, there are other methods to level up on Purgatory Island, which can be useful if you are yet to understand the gameplay mechanics.

That said, there are a couple of things to consider. First, there are a total of five Torment Levels. The higher the Torment level, the more XP you get per kill but your presence on the map will also increase. For instance, in Torment Level 5, enemies will be able to see through walls. Secondly, if you die, your Torment Level will reset and you must start all over.

With that noted, we take a closer look at some of the best and easiest ways to increase your Torment level in Warzone.

To quickly increase your Torment Level in Warzone, try any of the following tricks:

Eliminate Mercenaries

The CoD blog brief only states that you must get eliminations, and not necessarily Operator kills. So, even if you take down Mercenaries, your progress will count for increasing your Torment level. They are much easier to kill than players and can be found across the map.

However, for the best possible results, it's recommended to drop on top of the roof of the Control Center. From this building, you can watch out for incoming Operators or Mercenaries.

If you get to the location as shown in the image above, a Mercenary Chopper will spawn right in front of you, allowing you to take them down before they even have a chance to set foot on the ground. This will get you a host of kills on easy targets and increase your Torment level in Warzone.

Open Scare Packages

This method is purely chance-based but is the quickest and easiest way to get to Torment Level 5. Scare Packages will drop randomly throughout the map and you will be notified when one is spawning. These Scare Packages will appear as yellow markers on the map with '?' inscribed on them.

Head to the location and interact with it to open it up. If you get lucky, you and your team will instantly get to Torment Level 5.

This will complete any challenges of the Purgatory Island event. If you are hoping to get the Gore Canon Blueprint, you must survive for five minutes after reaching Torment Level 5 in Warzone.
