Prop Hunt in Black Ops 6 is a party game mode that can be simply defined as a match of hide and seek. It was only recently added to Black Ops 6, but this isn't the first time we've seen it. What's unique about Prop Hunt is that it initially began as a community mod for Modern Warfare 2 (2009). However, developers loved the concept and added it to Modern Warfare Remastered as a limited-time game mode.
Since then, it has made multiple appearances in games like Black Ops 3, Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops 4, and Black Ops Cold War. However, since Cold War, Prop Hunt was absent from the series and despite popular demand, it never appeared in the titles following it, until now.
We take a closer look at Prop Hunt in Black Ops 6 and how to play it.
Everything players need to know about Prop Hunt in Black Ops 6
Before we get into the details of Prop Hunt in Black Ops 6, let's discuss how you can access the new mode. Click on the Find Match box from the main menu, and from there, find the Prop Hunt playlist to get started with it.
Veteran fans of the series will be familiar with the game mode already. However, newcomers will need a brief overview of how Prop Hunt in Black Ops 6 works.
All players in the lobby are divided into two teams: Props and Hunters. Players of the Props team will be transformed into different objects that can be found on maps, such as a guitar, a duffel bag, a box, or a lamp.
Their primary objective is to hide and prevent getting spotted by the Hunters, who can shoot them down.
Although they are transformed into objects, they can still perform basic tasks such as sprinting, jumping, and climbing. But that won't be enough to escape the Hunters. Every 30 seconds, the "Props" will make a whistling sound involuntarily, alerting the enemies. If they get caught, they can use a Concussion Grenade and try to escape.
As for the Hunters, their job is pretty simple. All they have to do is hunt down the Props by shooting them. If the Hunters eliminate all Props before the match timer ends, they win. If they fail, the match is won by the Props.
That covers everything that you need to know about Prop Hunt in Black Ops 6. This fun game mode isn't meant to be competitive. So if you're tired of SBMM, Prop Hunt is the go-to mode to unwind and earn XP.
