How to possibly fix “Out of memory” error in Modern Warfare Remastered

With the release of the H2M mode for Modern Warfare Remastered edging closer, many gamers are starting to play Modern Warfare Remastered again. But this revisit has not been great for many gamers because of the “Out of memory” error code. This error code possibly occurring due to insufficient system resources or corrupted files has been bugging players trying to launch the game.

In this article, we will closely look at a possible fix for the Modern Warfare Remastered “Out of memory” error.

Before you proceed with the steps to fix this error, it is highly recommended to download both the campaign and multiplayer modes that are available to you after buying the game on your Steam library.

If the problem persists and the error continues even after you have launched the campaign first, then follow these steps:

Locate the game on your Steam library.
After locating your game, right-click on it and click on manage.
After clicking on manage, locate the browse local files options and select it.
This will take you to the root folder of your MWR game.
In the root MWR folder, search for a folder named “players2”.
Visit this Discord server https://t.co/oSNRPSHYPI and locate the h2m-mwr text channel.
In the h2m-mwr text channel, look for the cfg.rar file.
Extract the cfg.rar file.
After extracting the file, players should now have a few cfg files, namely config.cfg and config_mp.cfg.
Now go back to the players2 folder and replace the existing cfg files with config.cfg and config_mp.cfg.

After replacing the two files in the players2 folder, players should be able to launch the Modern Warfare Remastered game and also enjoy the H2M mod when it releases in a few days.
