The Retrowave Camo in Modern Warfare 3 is a free skin that can be used with all weapons in the game. One of the major highlights of this camo is that it glows in the dark, giving the weapon it's equipped with a unique look, especially in the darker parts of a map. The Camo isn't animated but has inscriptions that produce this unique glowing effect.

In this brief guide, we take a closer look at how to unlock the Retrowave Camo in Modern Warfare 3 for free.

How to get the Retrowave Camo in Modern Warfare 3 for free

The Retrowave Camo in Modern Warfare 3 is a Mastery Camo for the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon. To unlock it, follow the steps below:

First, you must unlock the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon in MW3.
Next, you must level up the weapon to Level 4. This can be easily done in the Small Maps Mosh Pit of Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer.
Then, go into a match of MW3 Zombies and get 250 Zombie kills with the Sledgehammer.

By following the aforementioned steps, you would have unlocked the Camo in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. It is worth noting that it can only be unlocked through MW3. However, once unlocked, you can equip it with any weapon in Warzone.

To equip it to your weapon of choice, find the skin in the 'Fun' section of Camos. If you have yet to unlock the Sledgehammer, the next section explains how to get the melee weapon.

How to unlock the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone

To unlock the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, you must complete any five out of the seven Season 4 Week 5 challenges. Doing so will unlock the weapon. These weekly challenges can be attempted in any game mode i.e., Multiplayer, Zombies, or Battle Royale.

The only condition is that you must complete five challenges in any one mode. For instance, if you decide to attempt them in Multiplayer, you must complete all these challenges. However, you cannot complete three challenges in Battle Royale and two in Zombies for it to count as five completed challenges.
