With the launch of Black Ops 6 on October 25, 2024, players have started to share their thoughts on social media platforms like Reddit. The game is the twenty-first installment of the Call of Duty series and the seventh main entry in the Black Ops franchise. With 16 launch maps, the game has started facing criticism from the CoD community.

Many players expressed disappointment in the quality of the map pool in Black Ops 6, sparking several debates. This was accurately expressed in a recent Reddit post by u/I_choose_you_Pichu, where they said:

“I believe these were all launch maps. Compare them to what we have today. Maps make or break a game for me unfortunately, and the maps in BO6 are hugely disappointing.”

In the same post, many players commented and expressed their thoughts. A user, u/Internal_Additional, expressed their concern about getting eliminated from a match after five minutes at the hands of a random player lying in a corner. This highlights the map’s concise design and build quality, leading to quick eliminations. They further pointed out that not every map of Bo6 is for everyone.

User u/Double-Floor7023 voiced similar frustrations, agreeing with u/Internal_Additional's comments. According to them, the maps are very different and offer fast-paced, chaotic gameplay compared to other CoD titles. They further added this title was not their preference.

Black Ops 6 players are frustrated with the launch maps

As mentioned earlier Black Ops 6 consists of 16 launch maps, 12 Core (6v6), and 4 Strike maps (2v2 or 6v6). Many of these maps have been meticulously redesigned to give players a fresh experience. However, while doing so, the developer made them concise and dynamic.

Hence, maps like Nuketown, Babylon, and many more offer a small environment that requires quick actions and strategic game plans to succeed. Unfortunately, many players didn't like that and have shown frustration, which we mentioned above.
