Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was released on October 25, 2024, and gaming icon Shroud has already streamed the game for several hours since. While he seemingly enjoyed the BO6 Zombies mode the most, he also made a remark about unlocking items and upgrades in the game. During a recent Twitch stream, Shroud admitted that unlocking things is just a vicious cycle which he wishes to escape by all means. He said:

"I hate unlocking stuff, it's like hey be the worst version of yourself until you finally get something good, and then level that good thing up until you have all the best things and now, and only now, are you the best version of yourself."

Read on to learn why Shroud hates unlocking new items in Black Ops 6 multiplayer and what brought about the comment during his livestream.

During a recent streaming session, Shroud was asked if he had tried his hand at Black Ops 6 Zombies. In response, he said that the zombies mode and the campaign are likely the better parts of the new title. Shroud has also voiced his thoughts on the multiplayer mode previously, saying that everything seems to be similar to the previous COD titles.

Furthermore, he spoke about how he is not fond of unlocking items in the game. It feels like a monotonous cycle of trying to unlock the best items. Explaining his thoughts, Shroud said:

"I know it's the whole point but, it really like, I just wish I had all the stuff. Like I wish there was a mode that had unlocked all (items), and I just played everything. Cause I'm not a fan of like 'oh sweet, I got a new grip.'"

By mentioning "the whole point" of the game, Shroud pointed out how progression works in such FPS titles when it comes to items. You earn weapons and perks as you level up, and along with those, you also slowly gain attachments and items to make your weapons and abilities stronger.

That is the whole concept of BO6 and many other titles quite like it. However, Shroud wishes it wasn't the case.
