Black Ops 6 has steadily been losing players, which could be due to a slow decline in their interest in the game. Regardless, in the midst of it all, COD content creator Loochy shared a post on X on January 11, 2025, to hail Modern Warfare as one of the best titles in the franchise. The title was released on October 25, 2019, and for Loochy, it has stood the test of time. This may be in contrast to how people felt about the latest Call of Duty title, Black Ops 6. In the original post, Loochy noted:

"I’m done pretending this wasn’t one of my favorite CODs of all time. The weapon sounds/animations were peak. Maps weren’t great at launch but the game rounded out pretty well by the end."

The caption resonated with many spectators online who rallied up to show their support for Loochy's take. @CountryGuyUSA even compared the movement in Modern Warfare to Black Ops 6, stating:

"The movement was the best too. No crazy nonsense movement like now."

The remark may be related to the introduction to Omnimovement in Black Ops 6. Players may have found it new or jarring as it stands out from the movement of many previous titles.

Regardless, it would seem that many Call of Duty veterans had a nostalgic sentiment attached to the game as well. @melo_mp4 felt Modern Warfare was a refreshing title and perhaps the best of all time:

"I can’t explain enough how much I absolutely loved this game. It was such a refreshing step up from what came before it and honestly now that we are 5 years removed from launch, it was the best game we’ve had since. Nothing will ever come close to the feeling of this game."

The title's popularity post its release in 2019 was also rather impressive. @not_sigrea stated that just about everyone was playing Modern Warfare during its peak:

"Definitely peak for me. First time playing Warzone. MW itself was smooth and felt natural. Everyone was on the game at its peak. I’m sure tons of people would agree"

Meanwhile, @GamersEdge2024 felt that perhaps maps matter the most while playing a competitive shooter and Modern Warfare did not check all the boxes in the user's books.

Furthermore, @Eckythumped disliked the maps so much that they just kept their distance from the Multiplayer Mode after purchasing the game. The user also noted that they regretted ever owning Modern Warfare:

"I personally disliked it. This was the first CoD game in ages that I regretted purchasing. Yes, the maps at launch were terrible and was a contributing factor to spending very little time in MP."

Finally, X user @StallionDuck91 hailed the game as the second worst of all time. This is a subjective take as many players may also dislike Modern Warfare for numerous reasons. Meanwhile, Black Ops 6 may still be popular with some others.

Black Ops 6 was released on October 25, 2024, and initially, it became the biggest Call of Duty release. However, by the end of December 2024, numbers on Steam began dwindling.

The game lost around 145,000 players in the same month. The reasons could range from the banning of hackers to players just not playing the game anymore. Regardless, bugs and glitches are common, and a cheating problem still persists in Black Ops 6.
