CoD Black Ops 3 is one of the few Call of Duty games that simply refuses to die. While the Campaign wasn't received positively, its Multiplayer and Zombies are still hailed to be among the best to date. The title was launched back in 2015 and was pretty well received by the community at the time. However, back then, no one would have guessed that Treyarch's game would still be going strong nine years after its release.

Before we get to the answer, let us first take a brief look at the three main modes that the game shipped with in 2015 i.e., Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, and how they hold up today.

Unfortunately, the Black Ops 3 Campaign isn't worth playing in 2024. The plot is set in the future between the 2060s and 2070s, and it does not have any connection with the previous Black Ops games. The title also did not feature any of the beloved characters from the previous installments, and the story appeared confusing to many.

Sure, it had some of the most iconic mind-twisting classic Black Ops missions in the series' history but the campaign felt quite rushed. Regardless, we won't give away any spoilers by diving deep.

Still, let's just say, that if you want some "Train Go Boom", you can give it a shot. In terms of the technical aspects and the graphical fidelity, the game still holds up pretty well in 2024. However, if a good narrative is what you are seeking, then you can skip it completely.

Is the Black Ops 3 Multiplayer worth playing in 2024?

Simply put, yes, the Black Ops 3 Multiplayer is worth playing in 2024. It has one of the most fun and innovative multiplayer experiences in the series and still boasts a healthy player count. In fact, in the last 24 hours, it had a peak player count of 6196 on Steam alone.

Call of Duty has received backlash for the release of Ghosts (2013) and Advanced Warfare (2014). Many despised the Ghost's bland gameplay and the thrusters in Advanced Warfare. Hence, with Treyarch at the helm in 2015, fans had high expectations.

Fortunately, they did not disappoint, as they perfected the boots off the ground gameplay movement and turned it into a smooth and seamless part of the game.

The maps were fun, the Specialist abilities added a new way to play the game, and it was overall one of the best Call of Duty titles in the last decade.

If you want to join Black Ops 3 in 2024 just for the Multiplayer alone, you can go for it with your eyes closed. It's a solid PvP experience that is certain to keep you engaged for hours on end.

Is the Black Ops 3 Zombies worth playing in 2024?

Black Ops 3 Zombies is without a doubt, absolutely worth playing in 2024. It has the best gameplay mechanics and features of all time, and many claim it to be the best Zombies experience to date.

One of the main highlights of this mode is the unique Easter Eggs, which adds to the overall experience. On top of it, it boasts one of the largest round-based Zombies maps collections, with a total of 14, including the ones from the DLCs.

However, Zombies in Black Ops 3 wasn't just mindless shooting and winning big boss fights. It was more than that. The game features four characters, each with a sad and interesting background.

For those who love to get into the lore, Black Ops 3 Zombies provides an in-depth narrative that no other Zombies mode had at the time. If you and your friends hop in, we can guarantee that you'll be spending countless hours in the mode, trying out the different maps, figuring out the Easter Eggs, indulging in the deep lore of the characters and the situation they are in, and a lot more. It's certain to have you coming back for more.

So to summarize, if a single-player Campaign mode is what you are looking for, then no, BO3 won't be the best game for you. However, if you want some PvP or co-op PvE experience, you cannot go wrong with Black Ops 3 in 2024.
