"Just remove it." — COD players are frustrated with the wall-hack perk in Black Ops 6

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 introduced a new perk called Recon for the title's multiplayer mode. The perk triggers when you spawn and allows you to see your enemies' exact position live in-game for a few seconds. Naturally, some players are frustrated with what can be seen as a legal wall hack because you can see silhouettes of your opponents through the wall and figure out their movement easily.

One user, @Just_Caffrey, expressed their opinion in a comment on an X post asking Activision to get rid of the new feature once and for all. They said:

"Just remove it."

The user had responded to an X post asking fans whether or not the perk should be nerfed in Black Ops 6.

User @RedXCrow98 recalled an experience noting that on Nuketown, their opponents shot them down from across the map thanks to Recon:

"I’d be down for it. When I was playing Nuketown you had players shooting through the walls from their spawn to my spawn"

User @Feared_Prestige was also upset with the way Recon was implemented in the game, as you can literally see your enemies' silhouettes through the wall. The user suggested that the perk should only show pings on the map instead:

"This should be radar pings only, not wall hacks"

Meanwhile, user @BigKhanDoe felt that players with a lack of awareness would want to keep the Recon perk in the game. According to them, keeping the perk only makes sense to those with little spawn knowledge:

"Only brain dead people with lack of awareness and spawn knowledge would argue to keep this."

Finally, @lajohnu felt that the perk should be removed from the game for good. They are just one of the many players who want the perk to either be removed or reworked entirely for Black Ops 6.

The Recon perk is one of the few special perks introduced in Activision's latest title. As the aforementioned players on X mentioned, it basically allows wall-hacks for a short duration of time. Here's the in-game description of the perk:

"Enemies can be seen through walls for a short time after respawn; a HUD edge indicator flashes when an enemy is outside your view; leave no death skulls when killing enemies."

In the game, you will see your opponents as red flashing silhouettes for about two to three seconds. Moreover, it is very easy to spam bullets across walls and take frags on maps like Nuketown, which is why many players feel frustrated with this new Black Ops 6 feature.
