Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is close to getting a major content update in the form of Season 4 Reloaded. The inclusion of the Unstable Rift was first announced in Season 4 and is finally being added in this upcoming mid-season update. These Rifts have introduced new wave-based combat inspired by previous titles in the Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies game modes.

What are Unstable Rifts in Modern Warfare Zombies?

Unstable Rifts are mysterious POIs located in the Exclusion Zone in MW3 Zombies. They spawn across the map and squads compete to be the first to enter.

Those who can't enter a squad don't have to feel discouraged as there are multiple instances where these Rifts can reappear around the map. However, finding and entering them first is a challenge.

Upon entering an Unstable Rift, players are greeted with waves of anomalies resembling zombies. These anomalies are spawned in increasingly difficult waves, presenting a challenge for players to overcome.

Players head to the next match with their best setup as completing an Unstable Rift resets the cooldown on all of their insured weapons and schematics. Operatives are encouraged to locate additional Rift if they can't enter or survive in the previous Rift.

The Rifts in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies are high-risk and high-reward areas that offer difficult combat scenarios but they also provide ground for uncovering various mysteries that are hidden inside them.

When squads begin exploring the Rift, they are rewarded with high-level loot, including a fully upgraded Pack-A-Punch weapon with maximum Rarity value. They also receive a range of free perks and upgrades to help them face the hordes of Zombies.
