Black Ops 6 Zombies Citadelle Des Morts map is set to arrive on December 5, 2024, with a terrifying new enemy called The Doppleghast. It will likely be a boss fight somewhere along the campaign as you fight your way through Avalon, where the map is situated. The Doppleghast is a special-class zombie much like the Mimic and the Amalgam and looks eerily similar to the latter.

Regardless, The Doppleghast might just be the scariest enemy in Call of Duty history. This article will go over its frightful appearance seen in the recent Black Ops 6 Zombies Citadelle Des Morts gameplay trailer.

Note: Some aspects of this article are subjective and reflects the writer's opinions.

The new Black Ops 6 Zombies Citadelle Des Morts enemy is terrifying

The Doppleghast has a compelling appearance. The creature has two heads — justifying the name which roughly translates to double horror. It features glowing eyes and the grotesque, deformed body of a zombie. It may look similar to the Amalgam on Terminus Island. However, it stands out because, unlike the Amalgam, the Doppleghast has eery tentacles for limbs.

In the recent Black Ops 6 Zombies Citadelle Des Morts gameplay trailer, the Doppleghast can be seen sprinting toward our crew of characters as if it is immune to bullets. It also showcases terrifying mobility as it skips and jumps across the landscape, evading all the firepower.

In the Call of Duty Blog released on December 3, 2024, it was revealed that the Doppleghast can lurch forward and randomly knot itself to perform inhuman movements while attacking. It also has accelerated speed due to its elongated feet.

The Doppleghast can engage you with rapid melee attacks. It also attempts to stab or pierce you with its sharp tendrils. If its tendrils successfully pierce your flesh, it can cause laceration as well as hallucinations which could make fighting all the more difficult.

Thankfully, the blog post also indicated the Doppleghast's potential weaknesses. If players can find and exploit it, the creature will simply explode, leaving behind a disturbing splash of blood and gore. It's best to observe from a distance when this creature finally succumbs to your many attacks.

Overall, the Doppleghast is a suitably terrifying creature given the fact that Citadelle Des Morts takes players back to the magical roots of the Black Ops Zombies storyline.

The powers of the Doppleghast in Black Ops 6 Zombies Citadelle Des Morts remain unclear from the creature's momentary appearance in the trailer and other media. However, it is already evident that it is one of the most disturbing-looking creatures in the history of Call of Duty Black.
