According to reports, Activision is getting sued for falsely shadowbanning players in Call of Duty. The report comes from @YugoKaa_ on X, who claims that they are taking legal action against Activision for "abusive shadowbans" in Call of Duty. The main claim is that they have identified abusive practices linked to Ricochet, which is the in-house anti-cheat system of CoD games.

The report claims these practices include unjustified shadowbans, which have led to moral and financial harm to legit players, and CoD hasn't played its part in being transparent with their customers.

Activision faces legal action for false shadowbans in Call of Duty

@YugoKaa_ on X is reportedly suing Activision for shadowbanning players in Call of Duty without proper justification. The suit isn't just representing YugoKaa against CoD but also numerous others in the community who have been shadowbanned in the games without any specific reason.

YugoKaa was also subject to a shadowban, back on November 27, 2024, on invalid grounds, and since then, they haven't been able to play the game which costs €80 in their respective region.

This letter claims that the lawsuit is being considered for a fair gaming environment for all players. Here's what the official post reads concerning this:

"This legal action seeks to defend the rights of players and demand immediate corrective measures to ensure a fair and transparent gaming environment."

YugoKaa has also asked other players who have been falsely shadowbanned from the game to share their CoD user ID with the date of the ban. These will help them formulate a stronger case with multiple testimonies.
