Microsoft has announced the increased price for its Xbox Game Pass subscription which will affect the upcoming Black Ops 6. The possibility of an Xbox Game Pass price increase was previously explored, which came true after the latest announcement. Those with Xbox Series XIS or Xbox One will have to pay $20 per month on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is $240 a year to enjoy the upcoming Black Ops 6 day one.
Xbox Game Pass increases affecting the price of Black Ops 6
On July 9, 2024, Microsoft announced an increase in the price of the Xbox Game Pass and some additional changes to the console, which will affect the expected price of Black Ops 6, the first Call of Duty game to debut on the subscription service. Now, it will be costlier for new Xbox Game Pass users from July 10, 2024, and existing users from September 12, 2024.

Below are all the updates that will take effect from July 10, 2024:
- Price changes will go into effect for new members for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass Core, and PC Game Pass.
- Game Pass for Console will no longer be available for new members.
- Members who are already subscribed to Game Pass for the console and have automatic payment renewal enabled will be able to continue to enjoy their membership.
Additionally, a new plan called Xbox Game Pass Standard will become available in the upcoming months. If you are on PC Game Pass, you will have to pay $12 per month to play the Black Ops 6-day one, which was previously $9.99.

- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: The earlier price was $16.99 per month now you have to pay $19.99
- PC Game Pass: The earlier price was $9.99 per month now you have to pay $11.99
- A new “Xbox Game Pass Standard” plan: $14.99 per month.
While these price increases may dissatisfy some gamers, Microsoft claims the changes will allow it to offer more great games and give more value to members.
