Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will officially support the split-screen feature upon launch. As per the official FAQ blog, Call of Duty has answered the question of whether the upcoming title will feature the much-awaited split screen or not. The answer is yes, but there are certain requirements as well. The split-screen feature has been an integral part of the franchise for a very long time, but Activision stopped adding it to the newer titles after Call of Duty Black Ops 3.

If you want to learn how the split screen will work in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, read below.

How does split screen work in Black Ops 6?

In the official Black Ops 6 FAQ blog, Activision has revealed that the split screen option will only be available on the next generation of consoles, like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One X|S. This means players on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 won't be able to play the game on split screen.

This also means that PC players won't be able to experience this feature in Call of Duty's next premium title as well. Previously, the series used to add a four-player split screen. However, Activison has also mentioned that there will be only two-player support this time around.

Split screens allow multiple players to play the game on a single screen. This means if you have a friend over at your place, you can play the game with them on your screen. However, you need to have different accounts to play a title like Call of Duty while using the feature. Since its removal after Black Ops 6, fans have been clamoring for the feature's return.

While there were some workarounds to play recent Call of Duty titles like Modern Warfare (2019) and Black Ops Cold War on split screen, Activision officially disabled it after Black Ops 3. With the return of this fan-favorite feature in Black Ops 6, players will finally be able to play with their friends on the same device.
