For the first time in Call of Duty history, Black Ops 6 Zombies will include a groundbreaking feature where you will be able to pause and save your ongoing match. This feature, exclusively available to solo players, is a game-changer, especially when unexpected emergencies or the need for a short break arise.
Traditionally, in the Zombies mode, stepping away from your screen meant risking elimination as the undead would continue to attack relentlessly. However, Black Ops 6 Zombies will completely transform this experience.
This article will dive deeper into the pause and save feature, ensuring fans are well-informed ahead of its release.
Pause and save feature in Black Ops 6 Zombies explored
The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies Intel Drop blog has revealed various details about the upcoming title, including a notable feature: the pause, save, and recovery system.
This feature allows you to pause your solo match at any time to take a break. If you remain inactive for a certain period, the game will automatically save your progress. When you return, you'll load back to the exact point you paused at, allowing you to continue your match seamlessly.
Additionally, you can manually save your progress at any time during an ongoing match, provided you're at full health, not knocked down, dead, or actively engaging in an Exfil location. After saving, you can step away and resume from that exact save point whenever you're ready. If you forget to manually save before leaving, the game will automatically save your progress if you're AFK for too long, ensuring you don't lose your place.

Finally, there's a recovery feature designed for situations beyond your control, such as sudden internet disconnections or server issues. If you get disconnected, the recovery feature kicks in. It allows you to log back into the game and rejoin your ongoing match without losing any progress.
Do note that this feature is exclusive to solo matches and not available for squad-based rounds.
Fortunately, a new feature has been added for squad matches as well: if you get disconnected from a match due to server issues, internet disruptions, or technical problems, you can rejoin and continue playing if your squad’s host is still active. Before you rejoin, you will briefly spectate the ongoing match.
