C4 receives nerf in a minor update in MW3 and Warzone

The C4 explosive in MW3 and Warzone has been nerfed significantly, thanks to a recent minor update. Reactions to this change have so far been mixed. Some fans have welcomed the tweak, while others care more about other issues in the games, like lag in servers and desync.

Before the update, a section of players felt that the power of the C4 was disrupting the games’ balance. Thanks to this nerf, they no longer have to worry about this issue.

What else does the small update in MW3 and Warzone change besides the C4 nerf?

The official Call of Duty updates page on X, called @CODUpdates, announced that the C4 has been nerfed in a minor update on June 19, 2024. As stated in the post, the changes include a 15% decrease in throw velocity, a reduction in explosion radius from eight meters to seven, and a decrease in outer radius damage from 155 to 138.

Alongside the C4 adjustments, the update includes several bug fixes and minor adjustments to weapons and equipments. The developers have also promised to monitor feedback and game data for further adjustments.

The reduction in the throw-in velocity means players can no longer toss the C4 as quickly as they could before, making it more difficult for them to use it in fast-paced situations. Due to the reduction in the explosion radius, players now have to aim the C4 a bit more precisely.

Moreover, the fall in outer radius damage from 155 to 138 limits the C4's effectiveness at the borders of its blast zone, making it less useful for destroying multiple enemies or those located further away from the explosion.

With a number of fans are trying to adjust to this minor change, most of them are preoccupied with other concerns in the game, like the possible nerfing of the Kar98k or another settings issue, where the game detonates the second C4 even without detonating the first one, even if the one-by-one setting is selected by the players.
