Call of Duty has just pushed a brand new update for Warzone and Black Ops 6, and the latest update has completely broken matchmaking in the game. While Activision is yet to release the patch notes, the devs have acknowledged the issue and let players know that they may notice longer than usual matchmaking times. In reality, however, the situation is worse than it seems.
Here's a look at the latest matchmaking issue after today's update (January 13, 2025) in Warzone and Black Ops 6.
Warzone and Black Ops 6 matchmaking isn't working after today's Call of Duty update
As of writing, matchmaking in both Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Warzone is completely broken. This means players are unable to find a match after updating the game. A popular Call of Duty news channel called @ModernWarzone stated on X:
"Today's update broke matchmaking in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. It is currently impossible to find a match. I've been searching for a game for over 10 minutes and still haven't found one."
The provided video also shows the player unable to find a single match for a while. The Call of Duty account on X revealed that players may temporarily notice longer than usual matchmaking, but did not clarify whether they will get matches or not.
Given the current state of Call of Duty, the fanbase appears furious. Furthermore, the latest update nearly breaking matchmaking is bound to be even more disappointing for them.
However, as stated by Activision, expect this to be a temporary issue. That said, players should soon be able to play Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
