Call of Duty's rumored Deadpool and Wolverine crossover is actually WWE instead

It seems like the rumored Deadpool and Wolverine crossover with Call of Duty is not happening at all after an official WWE collaboration announcement for MW3 and Warzone Season 5

Players hoping for a Deadpool and Wolverine crossover in Call of Duty series are in for a disappointment after a new announcement by Activision. In a recent post on its official X account, it was revealed that MW3 and Warzone Season 5 will collaborate with WWE and will likely feature Operators based on famous WWE wrestlers.

Simply put, it means that the previous rumors of a Deadpool Operator coming to Call of Duty weren't true.

There's no Deadpool and Wolverine crossover coming to Call of Duty, but a WWE event for MW3 and Warzone Season 5

Following an official update on Call of Duty MW3 and Warzone's Season 5, a trusted insider recently claimed that instead of Deadpool and Wolverine, WWE Operators are likely to arrive in the franchise.

For those unaware, an animation clip was leaked a few days ago, showing what appeared to be an Operator's Finishing Move. Initially, speculations surfaced online that the animation performed by the character was akin to Deadpool's character from Marvel comics and his live-action appearances in movies.

However, now it has become clear that the leaked Finishing Move has nothing to do with a Deadpool and Wolverine collaboration. Instead, it might be related to an undisclosed WWE-based Operator who will be part of MW3 and Warzone's Season 5.

While an actual announcement on all WWE characters is yet to be made, the insider, @CODWarfareForum, speculated in the aforementioned post that the crossover may reveal either Liv Morgan or Rhea Ripley.

According to the scooper, the leaked Finishing Move is similar to these two female WWE stars, given the fact that both of them are known for their signature 'wave gestures' in the ring which can be seen in the leaked clip.

For now, everything should be taken with a grain of salt unless there is an official update ahead of Season 5. Hopefully, proper details will be revealed in a pre-release blog for the next seasonal update, which is releasing on July 24, 2024.
