COD 2025 (Call of Duty 2025) could potentially bring back the original crew in the Zombies mode. Although this information is not confirmed as of yet, it was reportedly acquired from several members of a closed playtest for the future title. It has also been reported that the Zombies mode will have an expansive storyline and it will apparently be based around an entity that can absorb the dark aether essence.
The Zombies mode has evolved into a crucial part of the overall Call of Duty playlist as it provides the player base with a different experience that has its own unique pacing. However, the upcoming COD 2025 title might reintroduce some of the classic characters and build on a completely new story.

COD 2025 reportedly bringing back original characters with a brand new Zombies enemy
As reported by Tom Henderson in a recent post by Insider Gaming, COD 2025 playtest participants have provided some insight into Activision’s future shooter title. However, this information should be taken with a grain of salt as the final decision-making power lies with the publisher and they could make content changes to the game before it is released.

According to sources, COD 2025 will feature the return of characters like Takeo and Nikolai, though they are slightly aged. This could be a subtle nod to the upcoming storyline which takes place in a separate timeline that has not yet been revealed. The developers could also use such a twist to tie up loose ends and transition seamlessly from the ongoing Zombies story.
The emergence of a new enemy is also quite refreshing and could potentially set the franchise up for future developments. Villains are one of the crucial pillars of a narrative, alongside gameplay and map-based content. As such, they have a better shot at attracting attention from the player base if they have a clear goal in mind. In this case, the enemy's ultimate goal appears to be absorbing dark energy.
