CoD has temporarily disabled the Akimbo Gear Grip attachment for the Renetti in MW3 and Warzone owing to an exploit. The glitch would allow players to wield the Handgun with double the intended firepower, allowing them to take down multiple enemies with a single clip, even with shields equipped.

This was unprecedented for a pair of pistols and hence Call of Duty had to temporarily disable the Akimbo Grip for the time being.

Akimbo Rear Grip for the Renetti has been temporarily disabled in MW3 and Warzone

@CODUpdates on X, recently announced that they have disabled the Akimbo Rear Grip for the Renetti in MW3 and Warzone. However, the attachment has not been permanently removed from the games and a patch is on the way, which will enable users to equip the Akimbo Grips again. This was done to curb players from using a glitch in the shooters.

The entire glitch revolved around the Hexed Cruelty Blueprint for the Renetti. This Blueprint comes equipped with the JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit, which increases the firepower of the gun. However, players lose out on the Akimbo Grips for balancing reasons.

However, players had found a way to bypass this, allowing them to wield the gun with the firepower of the JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit, alongside the Akimbo Grips. This doubled the damage output instantly.

The glitch requires players to first equip the Hexed Cruelty Blueprint and deselect all the attachments. Doing so will also get rid of the JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit, allowing them to equip the Akimbo Rear Grips. The game would now show that the JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit is locked. However, due to the glitch, despite it appearing locked when selected, the Carbine Kit would be equipped.

Now, players not only have the JAK Ferocity Kit equipped on the gun with higher damage output, but also the Akimbo Grips, which doubles the firepower, leading to a build that is unstoppable at close ranges. CoD had never intended for this to happen, as it was quite frankly broken and overpowered.

Fortunately, Call of Duty noticed the issue quickly and has now disabled the grips to prevent players from abusing the glitch. A fix is just around the corner, following which the issue will be resolved and players will be able to equip the Akimbo Rear Grips with the Renetti again.
