Warzone Ranked Play, the highly competitive mode, introduced with Season 1 Reloaded, has sparked concerns in the community, as recently, numerous players, including top professionals, have been shadowbanned without any apparent reason.
A popular Call of Duty content creator, @Repullze, highlighted this issue in a recent X post, stating that several of the world's top Warzone players were banned from Ranked Play simultaneously.
Read on to learn more about the situation and the possible reason.
Top COD Players including Professionals are reportedly getting banned from Warzone Ranked Play
When Black Ops 6 first introduced Ranked Play, the mode was plagued by rampant cheating, with hackers swarming lobbies and players frequently encountering them. Developers responded swiftly, implementing aggressive measures that resulted in over 19,000 accounts being banned. However, these actions also led to innocent players being shadowbanned, while some cheaters evaded punishment.

Now, similar concerns have come up with Ranked Play coming to Warzone. Unlike Black Ops 6—a paid game that discourages cheaters since they face financial loss if banned, Warzone is free-to-play, allowing cheaters to easily return with new accounts.
This dynamic has created an atmosphere of suspicion, where players frequently report opponents—regardless of whether they are legitimate or cheaters. Unfortunately, this often results in skilled, legitimate players being falsely shadowbanned for appearing suspicious.
Recent reports have confirmed a wave of shadowbans, with numerous top Warzone players, including professionals and content creators, affected. This issue, highlighted in a post by a popular creator, has left the community frustrated and concerned about the state of Ranked Play.

Players have been complaining about flaws in the anti-cheat system, an issue that has persisted for over a year with little action taken.
With many players publicly sharing their experiences of false bans in Warzone Ranked Play, developers may need to act quickly, as this issue has the potential to damage the game's reputation. Even a minor, false ban can negatively impact the banned player's image, especially among their fanbase. This is a significant issue, and developers have yet to announce how they plan to address it.
