A rumored weapon named the FN2000 in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone got leaked by the Call of Duty developers themselves before its official reveal. In the Season 1 Reloaded key art, this upcoming weapon can be seen in an operator's hand, and fans didn't take even a second to recognize the rumored weapon everyone was waiting for.
In this article, we share more about the weapon and what's revealed so far.
FN2000 assault rifle in Modern Warfare 3 got leaked before announcement
While some data miners leaked a month ago that the FN2000 is coming to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, Activision never revealed anything about it. However, in the Season 1 Reloaded cover art, the FPS behemoth revealed the weapon before its usual seasonal announcement.
While some fans believe that it was revealed mistakenly, a large part of the community thinks this leak is part of a marketing strategy by Activision. While we are yet to have any concrete information regarding the FN2000, players can expect a mid-long-range assault rifle in the upcoming season, and it will be best compatible with a sniper.
Veteran Call of Duty fans might understand the excitement regarding the weapon, which was a part of the original Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. The bullpup assault rifle is based on a real-life weapon named the FN F2000, a 5.56x45mm NATO bullpup rifle made by and named after FN Herstal.
Activision first added this weapon in Call of Duty in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. Later, it was also a part of the Call of Duty: Vanguard, leading Warzone players to gain access. It seems like the weapon is returning again in Warzone and, this time, in Modern Warfare 3 as well.
