Activision seems to have revived PC matchmaking for an almost eight-year-old Call of Duty game. This surprising update was recently shared by a YouTuber and streamer who observed that Infinity Ward's 2016 title Infinite Warfare has received unexpected support on PC. For those unaware, a strange issue had kept the game in a dead state on PCs for the past two years.

This article will dive a little deeper into the resurrection of PC matchmaking for Infinite Warfare by the team of Call of Duty.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare PC matchmaking gets revived after two years

YouTuber @MikeRxqe on X shared a post recently reporting that Infinite Warfare's PC matchmaking is now working after a long gap of two years. It's definitely big news for players who still want to jump into some Multiplayer action of Infinite Warfare on PC and weren't able to do so previously.

One user tried to connect the latest update by Call of Duty with the possibility of the franchise games coming to Xbox Game Pass. Replying to this comment, the YouTuber wrote that it might be the case but he's not sure just yet.

For those unaware, there was a level fast file problem occurring for players on PC that prevented them from joining public matches. The error displayed to the players stated that their level fast file was different from the server before kicking them out of the match.

Now that the issue has been resolved, out of nowhere by the developers, PC players can definitely take a sigh of relief. Especially those, who are still interested in enjoying Infinity Ward's 2016 installment and its online FPS experience.
