A leaked gameplay footage from a scrapped Black Ops 4 Campaign mode has surfaced online, with the clip showing what could have been a possible story mode for Treyarch's 2018 installment. At launch, BO4 was the first-ever Call of Duty title to not feature a traditional Campaign. However, the latest footage has revealed that a single-player mode was initially in the works before getting canceled.

This article will mention the key details of the leaked footage from Black Ops 4's canceled Campaign experience.

Note: Players are advised to take leaks with a grain of salt unless there's an official confirmation from developers.

Black Ops 4 initially had a dedicated Campaign before it was removed permanently

A reliable insider on social media platform X, @Nocturnal2002, recently shared a post that included a Campaign footage of Black Ops 4 by Treyarch. The video shows a specific scenario where the character can be seen fighting against enemies at a location. The quest appears intense, and civilians can be seen running for their lives.

The insider replied to this post by mentioning that the scrapped mode was Raven Software's last attempt to salvage some kind of Campaign in the 2018 Call of Duty title.

Unfortunately, the makers eventually decided to permanently remove it from the game's overall experience. They replaced it with the Specialist HQ, a training mode that acted as a training ground for Specialists featured in BO4's Multiplayer.

Apart from its Multiplayer, BO4 also had a Battle Royale mode called Blackout and the fan-favorite Zombies mode.

Previously, many people believed that BO4 was never meant to have a single-player format. However, the newly leaked footage implies that the developers had different plans for the project. Ultimately, they got rid of the Campaign mode entirely before the main release.
