Microsoft is supposedly planning a massive change for the release strategy of Activision's CoD 2024 Black Ops 6 this fall. A new report has claimed that the company will bring CoD 2024 to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service on day one. There have been various rumors lately regarding this year's FPS premium from Activision to arrive on the Game Pass platform.
The latest news also suggests that Xbox users may get the option of experiencing CoD 2024 Black Ops 6 on Xbox Game Pass without having to pay a full premium amount of $70 - the usual starting price for every new Call of Duty.

The major update comes from media outlet Wall Street Journal's new report. It exclusively claims that Microsoft is planning to make CoD 2024 Black Ops 6 available on the Xbox Game Pass service on day one.
Here's an excerpt from the report suggesting that Treyarch's rumored Black Ops 6 premium title may arrive on the subscription-based service at launch:
"Microsoft plans a major shakeup of its videogame sales strategy by releasing the coming installment of Call of Duty to its subscription service instead of the longtime, lucrative approach of only selling it a la carte."
Additionally, it's been reported that the company will announce the next Call of Duty's debut on Xbox Game Pass during the Xbox Showcase event on June 9, 2024.
A few days back, it was speculated that CoD 2024 may not arrive on Game Pass due to Microsoft's internal debates on whether to take such a decision or not.
Call of Duty titles sell very well for full price and that's the reason for the franchise's global success as well. On the other hand, Xbox Game Pass hasn't really returned an expected amount of profit to Microsoft despite offering multiple titles for a small monthly subscription fee to players.
That said, the latest report claims otherwise. It also indicates that Microsoft might be confident in bringing Activision's $70 first-person shooter on its subscription-based service. Will this shift in sales strategy work wonders for Microsoft and also the Call of Duty brand in general? It will be interesting to see how things shape up moving forward.
